The setting: the state of Leonida
GTA 6 is set in the fictional state of Leonida, Rockstar's reimagining of modern-day Florida. At its heart is a returning fan favorite: Vice City, last visited in 2002's GTA: Vice City and now rebuilt as a sprawling, contemporary take on Miami. Beyond the neon of the city, Leonida stretches across beaches, swamps, keys, and small-town America.
The six confirmed regions
Rockstar has officially named six regions that make up Leonida:
🌴 Vice City
A modern reimagining of Miami — the neon-soaked metropolis at the center of it all.
🏝️ Leonida Keys
An island chain inspired by the Florida Keys: long bridges, turquoise water, reefs, and a laid-back resort vibe.
🐊 Grassrivers
Rockstar's Everglades — vast subtropical wetlands, swamps, cypress forests, and isolated rural communities.
⚓ Port Gellhorn
A gritty coastal city on the northwest edge — cheap motels, faded attractions, and a rough new economy.
🛢️ Ambrosia
Rural and industrial county near Lake Leonida — sugar refineries, biker gangs, and old-school grit.
⛰️ Mount Kalaga
Leonida's highland region — a forested area of lakes, rivers, and mountain terrain.

The protagonists: Jason & Lucia
For the first time in the modern series, GTA 6 features two playable protagonists: Jason and Lucia. Lucia is the franchise's first female lead in the 3D/HD era. The trailers frame the pair through a Bonnie-and-Clyde-style dynamic — partners navigating love, loyalty, and crime across Leonida, with Vice City as the center of opportunity and trouble.
What we still don't know

- PC release — not confirmed; would likely come after the console launch if it happens.
- Exact map size — widely rumored to be 1.5–2× GTA V, but Rockstar hasn't given an official number.
